About CCO Oregon: Staff
Ben Hoyne, MBA, MA
Ben became the Executive Director in November 2012. He previously served as the Community Outreach Director with CCO Oregon.
With a focus area in environmental health, Ben believes strongly that social determinants far beyond the quality of health care influence a person's well being, and he is committed to incorporating a wide-variety of factors into health care transformation.
Prior to working at CCO Oregon, Ben spent many years at non-profits, working, volunteering, and serving on board of directors.
He has years of experience working with public policy, in addition to experience in business development and marketing.
In his younger days he spent time exploring the mountains, rivers, and beaches of Latin America while soaking in the culture and music, teaching kayaking, leading friends on multi-day back country land and sea adventures, and guiding in Alaska. He is comfortable working in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.
He holds a Master's of Business Administration and a MA in International Environmental Policy, both from American University in Washington, DC. He holds bachelor degrees from the University of Washington and the University of Vermont.
In his free time he enjoys exploring the beauty of the Northwest with his family and sometimes can be heard spinning records featuring Brazilian music on a local community radio station.
